Camcorder recommendations for use with Adobe Connect

I am looking for advice for using a camcorder in Adobe Connect's video pod with a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.11. I am currently using a webcam, but would like to use a camcorder instead. I have not yet purchased a camcorder. I would like to know what type is best, and what is needed to make it work with Adobe Connect. I need the video to work with the recording as well.

Welcome to hell, my friend. I spent last fall searching for the same thing

only to come up empty handed. I could not locate a single camcorder that

would output a signal that Adobe Connect could grab directly. The issue

isn't getting it into Connect, it's getting it into Flash. The best

solution I could find was to push the signal from any camcorder through a

Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle for Thunderbolt (

https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/intensity). It works but just

barely and it's not very user-friendly. in fact, it wasn't working the

last time I connected it.

Adobe has done a poor job of maintaining its video pod for current

technology cameras. A poor job, indeed.

This is so frustrating. I have been reading similar stories from a few years back on other forums and was hoping there were more recent updates to get this to work. I do not want to invest in a camcorder and blackmagic for something that maybe will work sometimes.

Part of the problem is that the Connect video pod is still only standard

definition. Wouldn't it be great if we could choose between SD and HD?!?

How about Adobe working with Canon or Panasonic or Sony to create an

output that will connect right to Flash via USB 2.0 or Thunderbolt?

Connect is great and all but it's incredibly limited in some areas, almost

prohibitively so. They want more people to use it in place of live

meetings but they don't upgrade any of its guts. Unfortunate.
