Can't Broadcast Audio in Adobe Connect

At my job we use Adobe Connect to broadcast our meetings live over the internet. We connect a Panasonic HXV 200 with a shotgun mic to a Macbook Pro via Firewire. However, we can't get the audio signal transmitted to the computer. There is no option in Adobe Connect to select the HVX 200 as the microphone for the presenter. Does anyone know why this would be? The only options for Mics are "Built-in line input," "Built-in Digital Input" and "Blackmagic Audio." Sometimes we can get audio from the laptop's on board mic but it's not of very high quality. We've tried connecting the camera's headphone jack to the laptop's line-in port via an auxiliary cable. This works but it's not the best solution because the audio should be coming in over Firewire.

Make sure that your OS sees the firewire as an audio input, as Flash just references what it sees from the OS.

That said, firewire inputs have worked less well with Connect since version 8. So if you have the option to do an analog or USB input for the audio, that may yield a better result with less fighting with the computer.

The problem is that the firewire isn't listed as an option for audio input by the system settings either. I know the firewire itself still works because we use it to transfer footage all of the time. It just doesn't seem to be working for live broadcasts. Additionnally, when using a USB cable, Connect doesn't seem to recognize the camera (audio OR video) at all. We've tried setting the camera to 480i/24fps (Connect says that's the most it can handle) and that doesn't work either.
