concurrent licencing option

Hi,

The company I work for is looking to purchase Adobe Connect Training to enable to use of the virtual classroom functionality. I've received mixed information regarding the option of concurrent licences for the latest version of the software. We will mostly have a team setting up the classrooms with the appropriate content, and then a Product Specialist will deliver the class. It sounded like a concurrent licence would be the best option, because if we have named licences we will need to get licences for the developers, and also the Product specialists. However I have also been told that concurrent licences don't work with virtual classroom in the latest version,(9.4) only with on-demand training.

Could someone clarify please.

Thanks Nicole

Nicole,

I hope you got some answers from your reseller before now, but I'll give my explanation. You are talking about 3 different licenses that provide different functionality in Adobe Connect. The three licenses are Named Virtual Classroom Manager, Concurrent Learner, and Author.

Named Virtual Classroom Manager  (NVCM) - This license allows an individual account to be named to create/manage/run live online sessions in a Virtual Classroom that holds up to 200 attendees. On-demand Courses can be loaded into the Virtual Classroom as well as all other functions that are available in Adobe Connect Meetings. NVCM license holders also have access to the Events tool in Connect to allow potential attendees/students to self register to attend the live sessions.

Concurrent Learner - This license allows individuals to access on-demand training (Courses and Curriculum) in Adobe Connect. This is a pool of licenses, and acts as a first come first serve model. So, if you have 50 Concurrent Learner licenses, then there can be up to 50 individuals accessing on-demand training on your Connect account at any given time. This doesn't limit the number of individuals you can have enrolled in the training, just accessing it.

Author - This license allows a user to publish content to the Adobe Connect server. It is intended for those individuals who are generating the on-demand training objects. Some other licenses, such as the NVCM license, will have Author rights attached to them, since they will need the ability to upload content to the Connect system for live meetings.

Hopefully that helps clarify what the licenses do and don't provide.
