Connect add-in crashes with 'plugin failure' when I click volume controls F11 or F12 On MAC OSX 10.9.5. Latest add-in installed and set to run in unsafe mode

I am running Adobe Connect on a MAC using OSX 10.9.5 and have just installed the latest version of the add-in ( 11.9.971.247) to try to fix the problem. Every time I adjust the volume with F11 or F12 I get a white screen and the message 'Plug-in Failure'. I have also set the add-in to run in Safari in 'unsafe mode' but this has not fixed the problem.

I've been running Connect on this MAC for many months now without the problem but cannot understand why it has suddenly started. Any help or ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks - Chris

Thanks again. I finally found the answer and it is working in Safari and Chrome

First I updated Flash Player to the latest version (not sure whether this was required)

Then I found that even though the add-in was installed that Connect was not using it, as all the browser tabs were still showing, and adjusting sound was crashing the program.

    I deleted the add-in directory from ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/connectaddin

    I deleted the add-in directory from ~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/adobeconnectaddin

Then I restarted the meeting and created a new Pod and Selected 'Share my Screen'

This forced the add-in to download and install.

Adobe Connect now starts from the add-in and not the browser

Many thanks for your Help Sameer

    Hello again,

Glad that you are not facing issues in addin. I didn't get the following: "I have noticed though that when I click 'Share My Screen' in both Safari and Chrome that nothing happens"

I thought you were able to launch meeting in addin from chrome? For launching meeting in addin from chrome you need to add your connect addin domain in sandboxed list of Safari. Please visit: helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/removing-sandbox-restrictions-your-safari.html for more info.

    Thanks

    Hello,

We are aware of this regression with the latest Flash Player (15.0.0.152) on Mac and Flash Player team is working to fix this issue. But, this issue should not occur in Adobe Connect add-in(11.9.971.247). Are you able to launch the addin from your mac or is the meeting opening in browser (flash player)? Also, Can you try some other browser to launch your meeting?

    Thanks

I am launching the meeting from my browser by going to the meeting URL. I'm not sure how to launch it from the addin, could you explain please.

    Thanks

Which browser are you using? Can you please use Chrome if you are not.. Just click on share my Screen button if meeting opens up in browser. That should trigger lightning download of addin on your system if addin is not installed on your system. You will have to click on Accept button in the broken bar in Chrome first.

Let me know if you are still not able to launch meeting in addin.

    Thanks
