Connect Slow Response on Mac

I am using Adobe Connect with a Mac.  Designated as a meeting host.  Everything goes in slow motion:

        typing in chat boxes is one...letter...at...a...time...;

        Switching to a new layout or forwarding slides takes up to 10 seconds;

        Webcam jerky

Initially using Firefox, then same on Safari.  No other apps running.  This did not happen when last presented on August 25.

Tested on my PC and everything works fine.
