Cropping Recordings

Question

I would like to post our webinar replay minus the Connect interface. Is there a way to crop the recording to only show the slides, from within Connect, or do I have to download the FLV or mp4 and crop it in an external editor? One option of course is to just overlay our slides from PP over the recording and sync it to the audio. This of course takes extra time, so preferably, cropping the image prior to output is most preferred.

Short answer, no. Connect doesn't allow you to crop the display area of Connect, just portions of the recording entirely. You can choose to hide attendee lists and chat pods, to keep the personal or private information out of the recording.

Long answer, yes. You have an idea of how this works. You can download the source files from the recording (you won't get the slides but you can get the audio) by adding /output/foo.zip?download=zip to your meeting recording URL. Feel free to name the zip something else. There you can extract the audio and use it to sync with the slide deck. I usually us Presenter to do so, but there are plenty of other ways you can get it done.
