Question

Default Ports

I am trying to configure Adobe Connect Pro 7.5 to work in an environment where the port 80 and port 443 are blocked.  I am required to have them use a port 8080 for http and port 44443 for SSL.

How do I change this in Adobe Connect Pro 7.5

As I understand it (and I could be wrong), Ports 80, 443, and 1935 are required to be open for communication to and from the Connect server. This is stressed in the documentation for installing and configuring Connect (page 1) found here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/connect/8.0/installconfigure/connect_8_install.pdf

The exact wording is:

Correct. See this as well:

The following table describes server ports that Adobe Connect uses to communicate internally. These ports must not

be in use by any other process or program on a server hosting Adobe Connect, or Adobe Connect may fail to start.

Adobe Flash Player on the client side expects to talk to Adobe Connect Server on port 80 then port 443 and then port 1935. Maybe using proxies you can fool around with those ports but I think you are headed for performance and network issues if you don't conform to the ports the product weas designed to use natively.

With the software using ports 80 and 443, does it enforce sending usernames

and passwords thru the 443 connection? Concern is not wanting to send

passwords over an unencrypted connection.

Ps. Thanks for the answers
