Do I have to save the file?

When I used to use Acrobat 6 I did not have to save the file after scanning. Now using version 8 it looks like I have to name the file before I scan, but I don't want to save the file, I just want to email it. Please help.

    I think it depends, as if.. was your scanner hooked up to only your computer when you had 6? Because it could be different now becuase you're using a scanner that might be hooked up to multiple computers thus having to save the file to make it accessible to that person
