Question

Duplicate swf file audio plays in share pods even when host has stopped sharing document

Hi,

We had a presentation today where a captivate swf file audio played in a share pod and would keep playing even when the swf file was paused to stopped. When reopened we got two audio streams running constantly. The audio would keep playing even when the document was stopped being shared and then the share pod hidden.  All share pods were checked and all showed the status 'Share my Screen' so nothing was being shared on any pods but still the audio continued....in duplicate.

What version of Captivate was used to create this SWF? If it was 4 (set to output AS2 SWF files, default setting) or older, then it is likely that it is an AS2 SWF and the current version of Connect requires AS3 SWF files. Using an old AS2 SWF file could lead to unusual behavior like what you are seeing.

If the SWF was created with 4 (set to output AS3 SWF files) or newer then the issue may be something with the room. If you are hosted with Adobe, call support, 800-945-9120, or have your server admin look at the logs if you are licensed, and you may be able to identify the problem there.

Thanks for replying....it was created using Captivate 5. We have our Adobe Connect 8  hosted inhouse but we can't get access to logs as we are not admins. We have been asking for SP1 update 2 to be installed for ages and hopefuly this will happen soon...not sure if that will make a difference.

Adobe Connect 8 Service Pack 2 was just posted for on-premise customers. Suggest you ask IT to use that version.
