FEATURE REQUESTS

I didn't see this here for Adobe Connect, but I'd like to start it.

I'm hoping to achieve a few things here. NOT boggle down the moderators with sifting through pages and pages and pages and pages of "I want that too!" or "Me too!" or anything that is NOT actually a request.

Instead, I am kindly asking you to hit the Like (Thumbs Up) button for any requests you see here. That way the moderators will be able to see a concentrated list of ONLY Feature Requests with each Feature Request's number of Likes acting as the amount of support that Feature Request has from the community.

So, here are the rules:

1) ONLY Post Feature Requests Here; no confirmation that you want that feature too.

2) If you also want to see that feature, please, hit the Like (Thumbs Up) button.

3) Try to use "Reply" to post more Feature Requests or if you want to "add" something to the description of a Feature already Requested; then that "addon" description can be voted on separately.

4) If you have a question for the Feature Requester, please click on the user's name and send them a message.

5) Try to keep Feature Requests to separate posts so that each Request can be voted on individually.

I don't make the rules, but if we can keep these rules solid, it will make things easier for the developers, which can help get the feature created faster and better.

I hope this helps...

FEATURE REQUEST:

The link pods send out a link to every user. Can we have it as an optional setting? For example:

-Links push to Only participants

- links push to Hosts and Presenters only

Etc.

Pre-Load Layout/Page Before Display

For a much cleaner presentation, I'd like to see a layout loaded at the user's end before it is displayed.  I understand that the delay will be the same, but there is no reason to see the Loading.  It would be a nicer presentation (you guys always refer to "the Stage") if there was a clean switch from one layout (eg PowerPoint) to the next (eg. second presenters PPT).  They may only be possible now for those using the Desktop App, but should be available in HTML too.

And if someone already suggested this, sorry, I didn't see it in my search.

The best way to meet this need is to use a set up commonly called Pod Layering. You can have multiple instances of a Share pod in a Connect layout, so you can have the instance with your presenation hidden behind the primary pods of the other layouts so the presenation is allways loaded and once you transition to the layout where your presentation is shown, it just moves infront of the other pods.

Depends on what your recorded content is. The Curriculum viewer is HTML based. If your Course containing the recorded content is Flash based, then no, mobile won't be able to access it. You'll need to update your Course content at this point.

However if you have a Connect Meeting Recording as a Course, the Meeting Recording should play back in the HTML client of Connect, so mobile users could watch it.

Are you or your learners having a problem on mobile devices?

Hi Jorma - yes - I tried and can't even log in on my iPhone?

we have been looking to update from Connect recordings ( both meetings and reformatted to mp4) and have been running a trial of the Training license. Created a sample curriculum including PDF's, PPTXs and mp4s but I'm now being told students can only access this on a desktop not a smart device? We have a majority now asking to use a smart device for on demand content - and being able to add them to a curriculum would be perfect.

I sent this question: "

So the Mobile App can not be used for a Virtual Curriculum? Isn’t that the point of it?

And isn’t that the point of switching to HTML5? To enable mobile users to access non Flash based items which we have just spent hours converting from Flash to mp4?

https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-connect/adobe-connect-mobile-help.html

"Adobe Connect for mobile is an app that you can use to attend live meetings, virtual classrooms, and seminars. Recorded sessions can be made available to mobile users in the MP4 format. Users can access these MP4 videos hosted on Adobe Connect from most devices by tapping or entering the video URL. The device's video player then takes over and plays the MP4 recording."

The reply I got was "

The mobile client is for accessing rooms only.  It is not used for accessing recordings, curriculums, courses, content, the connect home page, et cetera.

If items require flash, mobile users will not be able to access them."

I'm sure I've asked before, but I've had a lot of customer support stuff in my head in the last few weeks so forgive me. What version of Connect are you using?

I just tested with 10.6.1 and I was able to go to my curriculum link in Safari on my iPhone (6 so don't roast me for having some new fancy tech) and was able to login and access the Curriculum page. However, the HTML viewer option for the recording as a Course in the Curruiculum doesn't seem to work. I'll bring it up with Adobe.

My workaround in the mean time would be to use the External Training item in the Curriculum and put the direct link to the recording there. When I do that I am given the option to play back the recording in my browser and the curriculum does track that I accessed it, just like it would for the recording Course item.

I'm being told that Mobile Users can't access recorded content in the curriculum? Isn't that the point of Adobe moving from Flash to HTML5?

If that's true that's nuts. We have a ton of people asking for iPad or SmartPhone access to recorded on demand content.
