Question

Feeding a Video/Audio stream into Connect

Will Adobe Connect accept inbound video/audio from 1) uStream, Livestream or YouTube Live? Or from a Mac/PC-based production software like Wirecast or Boinxtv?

I am trying to set up a multi-camera webcast that can be watched by students in Adobe Connect. Currently, I have multiple ways to the get the camera feeds into the computer (Mac preferred), but seem to hit a roadblock getting the final feed into Adobe Connect. The JVC GV-LS2 cameras, although discontinued, seem to be the easiest solution, but they only connect to uStream...hence my original question. Other cameras are able to feed into Wirecast or BoinxTv (which allow switching between cameras and overlaying graphics, etc.). Wirecast will stream to YouTube Live and BoinxTV will stream to Livestream, You Tube Live and Boxcast.

I've played around with Livestream, YouTube Live and Wirecast and, unfortunately, I've never been able to find a way to get the feed from any into a Connect Video Pod. My guess is that you'd have to wash it though a second Mac, i.e. produce your feed on Mac #1 and export it to Mac #2 that's hosting your webinar.

On a Windows computer you can try using the DVdriver application, which allows you to have any video input seen as a webcam (what Connect needs). Not sure for Mac, in my experience it either works or it doesn't.
