Hackers and Imposters

Like so many, I am using AC as an e-learning format during the COVID-19 period.  I set up my meetings so anyone with the url can join, thinking some parents might join and wanting to keep it simple.  I have had students share the url, impersonate real students and wreak havoc during the sessions with horribly inappropriate chat comments.  Other than restricting access in settings, I still cannot understand how these hackers could overtake my screen and delete the speaker icon and other control items I have at the top middle of the screen when broadcasting.  Can anyone explain how to prevent this?

It's becoming a wide spread issue with virtual conferencing platforms, not just Connect. The best option is to put restrictions on individuals entering your room and booting those users who are causing problems. It is so widespread that the FBI actually put out an article about how to deal with a situation that is being called Zoom-bombing.

To do this you should either change the permissions for your room to one of the options that requires Host approval to enter the room (either in the pre-defined user list or ad-hoc in the meeting) or, once you are in the room turn on the Block Incoming Attendees option with the Request Entry button enabled so you can manage allowing users to enter the room and display a custom welcome message.
