Question

Has anyone used Adobe Connect to track courses published with Articulate Storyline?

Articulate Storyline says you can track learner progress using Adobe Connect, however it does not display the course in an actual Meeting. When we were testing out a course, it requires a user name and password, but we only have 5 hosting seats. Is there a way students can take the test through connect without having to have a connect log in?

First, let's clarify a few licensing terms, as they are being muddled together.

Meetings use Named Host or Concurrent User licenses. This is for either the individuals who can run the meetings (Named Hosts) or concurrent user load of the Meetings (Concurrent Users).

The Training Module uses Concurrent Learner licenses. This is to allow concurrent access to your training for how ever many licenses you have on your account. Users must be named, meaning that they must have a username and password to access the content.

The two licensing models are separate and only come together in one very unique situation, which I'll not get into here. So think of them as non-intersecting licenses.

You should be able to upload and deliver Articulate presentations in Connect. Connect can deliver and track AICC and SCORM compliant presentations. With the presentation(s) in the Content library, you can deliver them on demand and it will track how many times it was viewed and what responses were given to the questions asked in the presentation. Content can be set up to have public access, meaning that login/password credentials will not be required.

If you create a course from the content, then you should be able to get the same reports as well as who viewed the course, how they answered the questions and their pass/fail status. They will need to be enrolled in the course prior to accessing it. A login is required because with out it, how would Connect know who was accessing the course (and because it enforces the licensing model)?

Not displaying in a Connect Meeting could be from the file structure not being correctly done to just being the wrong file type. Also, keep in mind that if you do get it to play in a Connect Meeting, it will likely not be sync'd. This means that everyone will have to watch the presentation on their own, you as the Host/Presnter won't be driving the presentation.
