HD Encode / Input to Connect

We have event clients that are looking to expand their use of virtual meetings utilizing platforms like Connect. We're hired to create and manage more 'produced' events that - in addition to smart and creative uses of Connect's presentation functionality - require external camera or switched program feeds as live sources in the meeting. I've not found current posts in this forum specifying which (if any) HD encoders or capture cards are supported by Connect.

 

In most cases we would use an HDMI, USB3 or Thunderbolt-connected device from Matrox or BMD, but obviously the drivers for those devices need to be recognized by the Connect application as a 'camera' or accepted input source. Are there supported devices can currently be used for external 720p or 1080i live video inputs? (In earlier iterations we were able to use a Matrox capture card that Connect recognized as a web cam, transcoding HD to a lower res., but we're hoping the current platform has evolved on this front.)

I'm not sure that Connect has at this point. There are a couple possible solutions that are out there that are 3rd party.

The first would be DVDriver (an older application but it works) that allows your Windows based computer to see a video input as a webcam, which allows Connect to use it. The application can be found here, and downloaded for trial or purchase (I have no affiliation with this group but still feel a need to applogize for their 90's style website, lol) https://secure.eagletron.com/TCamWeb/dvdriver.htm

The other option would be Refined Data's Vantage Point application. It allows the use and management of multiple video inputs in a way that doesn't tax Connect's performance.
