Help! Acrobat reader opens in word pad with symbols and winglings

I tried installing and removing and spent several hours on this. Please help I need to download medical records for study...thanks

I have Windows Vista, 32 bit I guess Microsoft Office

Unfortunately, this is the Adobe Connect support forum and the folks that answer messages here only support Adobe Connect. I am not an Adobe Reader expert and do not cover that product. We are not experts in all the Adobe products as there are many products.

It sure appears you have a Windows font issue but I think you would get a better answer by going to the correct forum where you likely find experts for that product.
