How can I edit audio from a recorded meeting?

Hello,

I would like to edit the audio (only) in a recorded meeting file.

I have attempted to convert the recording's resultant flv file to an mp3, with no luck.

What do I need to do to get the audio converted so I can edit it?

I'm a newbie with Connect, so appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Cheryl

If you are trying to edit only the audio of the recorded meeting and then recomposite the audio and video back together you are in for a lot of work.

Does the basic Connect editing tools of Connect work for what you need or desire to accomplish?  This is the easiest way to edit although you are removing both audio and video at the same time and it seems you may want to remove the audio and edit seperately.

I have used apps like VLC or AVS Video Converter to open the downloaded .flv file that represents the recorded archive and then convert/export the file to another file format that I can then open in an audio or video editor.  You might also want to try opening the Connect archive in Adobe Soundbooth CS5 and see if you can work on the audio track there.

I believe the issue generally speaking is the audio codec used on the Connect server being one that not all editing/conversion programs understand; its nothing fancy just a specific version of the MP3.

Keep in mind you do not want to work on too many conversions of conversions from the original source as the audio may lose quality or get soft.  Again using the editing tools that come with Adobe Connect are the best way to go
