Could you please provide the screen shot of the error you were getting while downloading the adobeconnect Add-in.

Also make sure you have all required privileges on the machine where you were installing the addin.

You could either download the latest version of the Add-In with a standalone installer at http://www.adobe.com/support/connect/downloads-updates.html

Or you could also try using IE/Firefox/Safari when downloading the addin. Google Chrome is known to give issues while downloading the Add-In sometimes.
