Lipsync problem when playing flv file as a participant

Hi there,

last presentation i had the following problem. I was logged in as a host and participant and started to play a small flv file.

In my host window video&audio were perfectly sync, but not in the participant window. changing the participant into host and play the file again did solve the problem.

I hope there is someone who has suggestions to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Freekson - I think this is a bandwidth issue. If you do the test again I would suggest logging on as a participant playing the video. Once the video has played through, play it again. I am sure the result will be different.

Something to remember when hosting and playing a video is that the video is never sync'd to the host or any other participant i.e. the video will stop playing on different computers at different times. I know that this does not answer the lip sync thang but my gut feel is that it is a bandwidth issue...... mmm... wait thinking about it ... I might be talking nonsense as you are using the same network..... mmmm..... but I am willing to bet that once you play the video through once the second time it will play fine.

One can also click on the green button on the top right to monitor your upload and download Latency.

Understand that when you are a host and using the webcam pod, the person sending webcam video is seeing the video directly from their camera which is instantaneous whereas everyone else there would be some latency as the video is transmitted. That is the reason you are seeing a difference. It's all about bandwidth and latency of the internet connection and distance between you and the Connect server

    hi,

sorry for my late respond. I was on a 'little holiday ;-)

We solved the problem to stream the video from one of our servers.

    Thanks anyway for your reply.
