Meeting with MacBook Air

Our client had recently purchase a new MacBook Air.

Both side using Speaker and Web Cam micorphone as many people will join in the meeting.

When we are using the VOIP, we heard the echo (our voice) clearly and our client did not hear any echo.

That make the meeting very difficult to run.

We know the problem is from our client side.

We had instructed to tick "Reduce Echo" in the Flash Player setting and Tick the "Echo Suppression" in Audio Settings in Meeting Preferences.

What else can we do?

Best Regards,

Ivan

Try either using the Speex audio codec, which will require that all attendees have the add-in installed, or using a device with hardware based duplexing, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=usb+speakerphone&x=0&y=0&sprefix=usb+speakerphone. A USB speakerphone will usually solve the problem.

Two things that come to mind:

    1. It is always recommended that you use a properly designed headset and microphone that support VOIP. PC/Mac microphones and speakers were never designed for handling VOIP type phone conversations...even new Macs! It is recommended that you purchase a headset fir use while using any VOIP solution. They properly handle echo cancellation and isolation of sound...while PC/Macs do not handle that very well. Yes, but it works well in most cases....but again a headset is what is recommended by the industry. Most web conference providers recommend a proper headset for the best VOIP experience.

    2. Use the Audio Setup Wizard on the menu when you join a Connect room the first time. This wizard was designed to adjust all the sound and microphone settings to optimize them.

    3. Use the Adobe Connect Host Add-in and the different codec settings to make your experience better. Under preferences, the host can make a selection using the Speex codec as mentioned. Understand that once the host chooses that then all attendees will be prompted to install the add-in upon meeting entrance.
