Opus Codec instead of Speex

I was wondering if there is any way to specify/include/install the Opus Codec instead of Speex? The Speex website indicates the following: "The Speex codec has been obsoleted by Opus. It will continue to be available, but since Opus is better than Speex in all aspects, users are encouraged to switch".
