When I host a meeting to share a powerpoint presentation what factors determine the screen size that meeting participants see? Does the resolution of the presenter determine the resolution of the participant screen?

Yes you are right. If you set your screen to 1024x768 and all your learners screens are set to 800x600, what will happen is that the PPT will not be clear on their screens. You will either have to set your screen to their settings or visa versa. The opposite works well i.e. if your screen is 800x600 and theirs ia 1024x768 then they will view the PPT clearly i.e. I agree with mcqueenj if you do not know what the learners settings are set at, set the presenters screen to the lowest denominator.

Usually you want to run the lowest resolution if you are the presenter. I run two screens and put the app I'm sharing on the big screen then set the resolution to 800 x 600. This way I can still navigate okay and the people watching have the biggest screen font sizes available to them.
