Permissions bug?

The permissions change was likely due to another person with Host rights suffering from what I usually call Red Button Syndrome (meaning that someone can't help themselves from doing something in the room that affects others like a permission change or modifcation/removal of a pod, etc.). They realized they could affect other peoples permission level and moved the individual who was at Host to Participant. I don't know of any other way that the user role would have changed. The issue of not being able to type in the chat pod is most commonly a connectivity issue, but usually has other symptoms. So that one may take more research to identify the problem.

Again, this sounds like one of your Hosts was doing this, probably without realizing that it was going to affect the entire room. In fact, I would be willing to put money on it being one of the individuals at the Host role in the room (people aren't always willing to admit that they made a mistake durring a live session). You may want to consider if all those individuals at the Host level needed to be there, or if they just needed to be Presenters. I'll promote just about anyone who needs it to Presenter in my room(s) but it takes someone really needing Host rights to get that from me .
