Problems with Windows Vista

I'm running Breeze 5 as a host/presenter on two computers. One is a 1.7 Ghz PC with 1 GB of RAM running the commercial release of Windows Vista with IE 7.0. This PC is running the Aero interface with a descent video card with 256MB of RAM. PC two is a 1.1 Ghz notebook with 512 MB of RAM running XP SP2 with IE 7.0.

The PC running Vista is running all applications fine with good performance except when I start a meeting with Breeze. When I start the meeting my CPU utilization of Breeze shoots above 60% of the CPU (in Task Manager) and remains there when everything is idle. When I try to use my microphone to speak, CPU goes to 100% and the audio is choppy. No other applications including virus software are running on this machine at the time. I start the session after a clean reboot.

The notebook running XP doing the same thing has good performance with CPU in the low 20% range. Using the same microphone I have no audio issues. This is with Norton Internet Security and other applications running.

Does anyone else have experience as a meeting attendee using Windows Vista?

    Hardware Update

    I'm now running my Breeze 5 session on a Dell XPS 410 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 chip, 2 GB of 667 Mhz RAM and Windows Vista. This is one fast machine. Unfortunately, when I launch a Breeze meeting and turn on the Audio, my CPU utilization shoots up and the audio becomes choppy. When I turn off the Audio Enhancements in the Audio Set-up Wizard, then the CPU utilization drops and my audio is fine.

    Hi KTL2,

    Breeze does not support Vista. At the moment, neither does Connect. We expect Vista support in Connect 6 SP2 sometime late spring/early summer.

    For what it's worth, I've been seeing issues surfacing with applications not running as expected while on Vista. As a matter of reference only, take a quick walk over to http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/m-357003/tm.htm. Although the board referenced is for Frontpage users, I've been seeing some horror stories coming up with various applications that are not working in the Vista environment. Let me be clear: I'm not an expert in IT related issues, but it sounds to me like there's a possibility that your problems could be related to the OS.

    My experience with Windows Vista has been excellent. I've been running it for about 4 months on three different computers . I haven't found any software that has given me a problem once I installed the vendor's Vista updates. If someone is having problems with an application, they can run it in the Windows XP compatible mode or check for a vendor update.

    The reason I posted a message here is that I've had so few problems with applications that I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar problem, or if it might be something with my set-up.

    The only was I've been able to get descent audio when running a Breeze meeting under Vista is to turn off the Audio Enhancements in the Audio Setup Wizard. Once that's turned off, the choppy audio disappears. In my opinion, it must be the Breeze Meeting Add-in that's the problem. The audio card and drivers in my three Vista machines are all different, but they all exhibit the same problem with Breeze.

    I have Photoshop Elements 2.0 and purchased a laptop with windows vista. When trying to run from VISTA, the message "could not start adobe photoshop becauseense the volumen windows is using for vitual memory does not have enough free space, which could lead to stability problems. Will this run on Vista?
    there is 1258 MB of total paging file size for all drives. Drive C has 83.1GB free. This is a fresh install of Photoshop on a new laptop.

    Please advise how best to resolve this.
