Questions about AC that Adobe don't answer

Hi!

I'm putting this message here to request more information about the Adobe Connect software, because I sent an email to Adobe 2 times and they didn't answered me. The version I'm interested is the 'HOSTED', which is sold based on a yearly contract with Adobe and Adobe itself provides support and hosting service for the application. I have some questions:

1) Is there a limit on the number of people simultaneously connected? What is that limit?

2) Which types of system customization (like layout) will I have in the HOSTED version that I didn't have on the trial version?

4) Is there a monthly traffic limit?

5) What is the disk space for this 'HOSTED' package?

6) Finally, I would like to know the prices for this package...

Please, if you could help me with these informations I will be more than happy! I tried sending emails 2 times but nobody in Adobe seems to want to sell their product...

Thanks in advance,

Marco Aurelio.

I can answer that for you but a number of answers depend on what country you reside and if you are representing a corporation, government agency or educational institution. Adobe Connect is normally sold to these organizations and through the software channel or through partners that cater to these organizations. Individuals can buy it direct through the web via the Adobe Connect product page where there is a link. The Adobe sales force also is engaged on deals with these organizations but nit with individuals.

    1) Is there a limit on the number of people simultaneously connected? What is that limit?

Answer: It depends on which model you choose....it is sold two ways....one is through concurrent use and then the maximum is the number of licenses you hold. The other way is through mangaged hosts accounts and you buy each host an account. The limit there is 100 per room. This applies to hosted accounts.

    2) Which types of system customization (like layout) will I have in the HOSTED version that I didn't have on the trial version?

Answer: It you had a full trial then you had exposure to everything including the training module and events. Adobe Connect is sold via modules so you can start with the meeting module but add the training module to enable classes and training. The events/webinar module is another option for very large events. You would go through this with the siftware reseller.

    4) Is there a monthly traffic limit?

Answer: No limit..just the limit of the model you are under in terms of number of users in a room.

    5) What is the disk space for this 'HOSTED' package?

    Answer: No limit to storage.

    6) Finally, I would like to know the prices for this package...

Answer: You would get this from your software reseller based on the country you are located.

Please reply with where you are located:

Adobe does not sell Adobe Connect directly to customers but through the software reseller channel. Individuals can purchase Connect by using the product page button for buying now. If you advise what country you are located, I can have inside sales call you and connect you to the reseller or partner located in your area to work with you.

Hi, I'm from Brazil and I contacted an Adobe reseller here, and they told me: "We don't sell Adobe HOSTED solution, just the role solution for your server. If you want the HOSTED package, you should call directly Adobe USA".

Now I'm confusing, because I don't know where to buy Adobe Hosted plan for trainning.

I'm not individual, I'm a language school company, in Brazil.

That's why I'm sending messages to Adobe...

One question that wasn't clear answered: what is the limit os people per host in the HOSTED plan? Because in the ONLINE plan, sold via Adobe website, the limit is 25 per host.

If you could indicate a reseller that I can buy Adobe Connect HOSTED plan, I would be very satisfied. Remember: it's the HOSTED plan, the one that Adobe manage almost everything.

    Thanks in advance,

    Marco Aurelio.

    Ok. Great. That information helps.

Adobe has Hosted servers in North America, Europe and now Asia but none in South America. It's a matter of where the business has been to date. At first Adobe Connect Hosted servers were in North America to cater to US and Canadian businesses and governement agencies. It has expanded. Howver, I'm not sure you would be happy with the performance trying to use servers in the US while your meeting is really happening in Brazil. It would work but you might see latency because of the distance. I'll check to see if the Amazon AWS option is the answer (Adobe Connect running on Amazon Cloud servers worldwide).

We now have a relationship with Amazon who has services available worldwide that may be an option for you.

The reseller was offering our on-premise solution which allows you to run the server on your own Windows 2008 Server. However, some want a hosted solution as you desire.

Marco, please send am email directly with your cpmplete contact information and company name so I can advise who to contact at Adobe for this. We have an Adobe sales team that can handle this. I'm in that side of the Adobe but I handle US Federal Government agencies so I need to pass your info to the right sales team.

What you were seeing with the 25 person limit is the indivudual plan which is not the same as the enterprise plans I described. Generally, for hosted customer using the concurrent plan you can have hundreds of people in a meeting. If using the host account model, then 100 per meeting is the maximum. On-premise customers who run their own server will see 500-600 people simultaneously on each server instance. Adobe Connect scales very highly.

I'll get back in touch next week. We have a holiday weekend and won;t be back to work until Tueasday (9/6).
