Has anyone experinced any lockups with Connect Pro 7.5 or 8.0

I am using XP Pro 2002 SP3, with Firefox 3.6.16 and IE 6.0.2900.5512 SP3 both on a Dell quad core system (Intel i5 CPU w/3.25G RAM).  I have seen random lockups were I can't shut the system down or close the browser window and the system has to be power cycle to clear the window.

I have seen the problem when I only have one app open and when I have three or four open.

It seems that, rather than Connect, you have problems with the FlashPlayer plugin or the add-in: the Connect interface application is just a SWF that runs in the Player.

The Connect add-in is a plug-in for Flash Player that allows the interface to access the camera and microphone devices.

In fact, I can understand the browser getting stuck, but I cannot imagine how it can lock the system shutdown... The Player simply cannot lock resources at that level, since it is envelopped in a plugin container managed by the browser.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the FlashPlayer and (if you ever installed it) the Connect add-in, but also try to investigate on the other applications you have installed on your PC.

I too have seen the same problem in our office.  We exclusively use W7, and have seen lockups on several ( 3 out of 22, including my own) PC's, both with and without SP1.

Lockups do not occur when Flash Player is uninstalled, and seem to be independent of browser.    Uninstall/reinstall does not fix the problem.  Disabling flash within the browser does prevent the problem.

When the screen locks the cursor is still active, but it is impossible to bring up Task Manager.  Hard reboot seems to be the only solution.  Brit political web site www.order-order.com (which has a lot of flash) can repeatably reproduce the problem......but not in a systematic way, there seems to be a large degree of randomness.

Machine is an HP Pro 3010 desktop.

Ok, so it is definitely not an Adobe Connect issue.

You may want to search for help in the proper Adobe Flash Player forum (http://forums.adobe.com/community/webplayers/flash_player).
