Ranking of optional cameras and microphones

Hi,
Has anyone seen or done a ranking of optional cameras and microphones for Adobe Connect Pro? It would be great to get an overview of best and most economic products. Right now I am testing:
- QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac, from Logitech - And I have not succeeded yet in getting it to show up in the camera configuration.
- ClearChat Pro USB - And I think there is a humming noise which I have not heard before using other headsets and also my Mac's buil-in microphone.

All hints are more than welcome!
Kind regards,
Jonas

    Hi Dan and Eric!
Thanks for your advice. Dan, you were right about the mike. I disconnected the electric cable and the humming sound disappeared. So I think I can get around the problem, which means I can keep the mike.

Regarding video cameras/webcams, I use a Mac and wonder if anyone has experience from using a camera that really stands out? The built-in iSight is of high quality, but I would like a stand-alone with the best quality the system can take. Would be very greatful for your advice.
    Kind regards,
    Jonas

I use Sony camcorders and tripods and a 1394/Firewire connection to a portable. Video looks great, especially in low light, but it's more work to set up than a little clip-on web cam. For audio I use wireless handheld or lavalier mikes, a shotgun mike on the camcorder, or a feed from the room's PA system, depending on the type of interactions and the room situation. I've found that the lunchtime presentations I record are best with a handheld mike, so I can pan the camera as the mike changes hands.

    Hi Eric and others,

I just tried to setup a meeting using my sony camcorder instead of the logitech webcam. it seems to me that the camera is recognized by laptop and adobe connect. But I don't get the pictures. I'm using the firewire cable.

    Questions:
    - what could be wrong
    - do I need additional software
    - can I use USB instead of firewire?

    Kind regards Paul

    Hi Jonas,

A ranking list with headset and webcams is a great idea. It should also contain conference microphones and video cameras.

About the the humming sound problem, try to disconnect your power cable (if you can run on battery) so see if the problem disapeares. I have had the same problem on some PC laptops.

    Regards,

    Dan
