recBackups folder in the content folder on the server

There is a folder named "recBackups" in the content folder on the server, which contains backups of parts of the recordings. The folder is occupying a lot of space.

1. Why does Adobe Connect make these partial backups? Under what circumstances does it use them?

2. Is the folder safe to delete?
