Screen Sharing Audio Issue

Hi. When delivering training, I frequently use the screen sharing feature within AC to play videos with sound. However, since the most recent update to AC, sound will no longer share when screen sharing. Has anyone else had the same issue? Any idea how to resolve? I am using the AC desktop app. Ticking all the relevant boxes as I've always done to be able to do it. Help!

Is there any reason why you prefer to run video through screen sharing instead of uploading the video and running it directly?

If you're on audio, and you rely on Screen Share to handle the video you're running onscreen, that's going to cause conflicts. I'm surprised that you haven't run across this before. Have you tried to run Connect from a browser window and had the same response? Have you uploaded the video directly and tried to run it in the Connect app and from Connect through a browser window.

Hopefully experimentation will help you find the workflow which works best for you. Sometimes resolving an issue is a matter of elimination, this will help you hunt down which variables may have introduced problems in your workflow.

    Hope this helps,

Please try uninstalling the desktop app and installing the latest one from: https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-connect/connect-downloads-updates.html.

Thank you. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue.

    Randy,

I am running into the same issue as the Stephen.  When I attempt to screen share in AC, it will load, then kick me out of the room.  When I re-enter, it now lists me twice.  What is your suggestion?

Just screen sharing period? Or sharing a video through screen sharing?

One of the great things about Adobe Connect is that it can be run through its stand-alone configuration as well as through a web browser. Even with host privileges. That's why I recommended that the OP consider uploading the video and running it directly from its own share screen instead of layering it with the inherent latencies of Connect, then the browser, then the web server that was feeding the web browser window. And that the OP try using the web browser instead of running from the Adobe Connect application.

If you're being kicked out of your own room any time you open screen sharing, that's a more challenging issue. When you enter the Connect room with your second persona, can you now run screen sharing or do you get booted again? Does it matter what you try to share with Connect? Does screen sharing work, say for sharing a specific powerpoint file and/or whiteboard, but lock up when you go to show your computer desktop?

Narrowing down the symptoms may be the key for sleuthing your screen sharing problems. I'd suggest trying the variables listed above and try to narrow down specifically is and isn't working. Hopefully we can figure out a plan of action to get you past your issues.
