Shortening the URL inside the outgoing email blast

How do I shorten the URL in the email? I am setting up an event in Connect and the URL is so long it breaks on two lines. Can it be shortened?

    Not as a function of connect. You could take the long URL and put it in a URL shortening tool and then place that new URL in the invites manually.
