Uploaded PowerPoint not in content list, but name in use

Hi,

I lately encounter problems with PowerPoint presentations.

When uploading a presentation in Adobe Connect, everything seems fine.

But the new material doesn't appear in the list.

When I then try to upload the presentation again, Connect says the the name is already in use. What now?

Gordon

It sounds like Connect errored out when uploading the first PPT deck. This may leave a phantom object in Connect, which will have that name. Just like on you computer, you can't have two objects with the same name in the same folder. So, try modifying the name of your PPT deck or uploading it to a different folder.

Yes, this exactly describes my problem

I could fight the symptoms by renaming the PPT decks, but I'd rather like to remove the cause. So I'm looking for a way to delete these phantom objects.

The easiest way I know to remove those objects is to use Adobe Presenter (you can download the 30 day trial and use it if needed). This is the tool that the Connect server uses to convert the PPT(X) deck to a Flash based presentation which is delivered via Connect Meetings or as stand alone Content.

When you publish with Presenter, you can navigate to your folder and you may see "Content" objects. These are the presentations that failed to upload properly.

You should be able to select and delete those objects when in the wizard for publishing from Presenter.
