Using Wirecast with CP

Hi everyone,

Anyone out there have experience using Wirecast to add graphics to video and then plugging that into CP?  I'd like to try using Wirecast for a conference and have the speakers' names overlaid. I know Wirecast will do this but I'm not sure if I can get the signal out of Wirecast and into the CP cam pod.  mb

    From the Wirecast brochure I found this...


    Destination.

    There are several custom destinations for some CDNs and Live streaming websites. You will need to have

    an account with the specific service if you'd like to use that service. Shown above is the generic RTMP

    Flash Media Server destination.

    You may also select "Record to Disk" as a destination for the stream.


    It appears that Wirecast is similar to the free Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (of course Wirecast has a lot more features). These products allow you to stream from your PC to external streaming services - they do not appear as a "webcamera" to your operating system and therefore cannot be used with the default Adobe Connect video (Camera and Voice) pod. In order to share this video inside of an Adobe Connect meeting you could either "record to disk" before the meeting and simply load the file as an FLV into a Share pod. Or if you wanted to stream live you would need to have a custom pod loaded into your meeting to subscribe to the video stream coming from the external service. Companies such as RefinedData (www.refineddata.com) have created custom pods like "Talking Stick" that allow you to do just this.
