V11.2 participants cannot view PDF documents in share pods in normal view

In normal view, participants cannot view PDF documents that are shared by the host using a Share Pod.  This does appear to work in Classic view but not normal view.  I attach a screenshot of the message participants see.  Any help is appreciated, I have tried re-uploading the PDFs as a host but this does not work.

    Try uploading the PDF to the Content library and then pulling it into Share pod.

    I've had this same issue with pre-loaded pdf's that shown as 'unsupported content' in standard view. The instructor had to re-upload all pdf's back into a share pod for it to work. This was very cumbersome in multiple classrooms with over 50 layouts. Is there a reason why this is happening? Is there a bug-fix on the agenda in the next update?
