Video share from lobby into next layout

I am running up agains a bit of a glitch and wondering if there is a solution.

 

I have a lobby set up as my first layout for an event. During that time, I would like to get my presenters on camera behind the scenes and make sure they are all set for when we kick off the actual content. 

 

As a solution, I placed a video share pod in the presenter view and, when transitioning to the next layout, see their videos carry over to the video share pod I have set up in the participant view.

 

However, when I go back into the event, my share pod in the lobby is now gone. it seems to not want to stay put upon transitioning over to the next layout. As such, I have to set this up each and every time I head back into that meeting room. Also, if I inadvertantly use the lobby layout during that presentation, my presenters have to re-share their video vs it simply remaining in my layout as it does with other (non-lobby) layouts.

 

Any thoughts?

    On layouts that don't include the video pod, we have been hiding the video pod behind other content, so that the presenter is still actively sharing their camera and they don't need to reshare when we come back to them.

     

    For the lobby situation you describe, before attendees arrive we have been bouncing to a layout that does show the video pod, letting the presenter activate their camera and check settings, then go back to lobby layout where the video pod is hidden under other content.

        While the layouts change, the Presenter Only Area (POA) does not change from layout to layout. So if you have the Video pod running in the POA and it then goes the main stage, then changing the layout to one without the video will hide the Video pod in the room, rather than push it back to the POA. 

         

        This is just kind of the nature of the beast with Connct. There isn't really a work around or alternate workflow for you in this situation. You will just have to have the presenters re-share their video if it comes to it.
