Viewing a recording: stream or download?

When viewing a recording, does it download as a complete file or does it establish a live stream? A recording I made that runs about three hours appears to stutter during playback, as if it's streaming through limited bandwidth.

Additionally, if it streams, is there a way to determine how much bandwidth the recording needs to play? I know that recordings maintain much of their live features but I can't find any way to determine how much bandwidth the file uses to play. Is it exactly as much as it needed when it was live? Is it more? Is it less? How can I determine this?

The Connect server re-creates the live meeting experience with the recordings. If you make an FLV or MP4 version of the recording then it would be different, but I'll leave those to the side for now.

The bandwidth demanded to play the recording is identical to the bandwidth needed for the live session. The viewers of the recording are seeing the same documents/screen share/etc. that everyone saw in the live meeting. I suppose if you choose to hid the chat/attendee pod the bandwidth may be reduced slightly, but since that is just data it is pretty negliable and may still be delivered, just hidden.
