Viewing mp4 recording in chrome

I have a bunch of on-demand videos in Adobe Connect that we distrubute to clients to view.  Clients are unable to view these recordings in Chrome.  Some recordings were created in Camtasia and some recording were created in our old training platform Go To Training.  But they are all mp4 file formats.

Do anyone know of a work around for these recordings to be viewed in chrome?

Fair enough, I'll try to make a short version of Frank's article.

If you upload an MP4 to Connect you get a link to distribute. This link will use the built in Flash based player to play the MP4 with a basic Play/Pause button and a scrub bar. For example:

https://connect.cosocloud.com/pcbb5oooyk94/

If you want to have it play back in browsers that don't support Flash (most browsers on some level at this point), then we need to modify the link slightly so that it doesn't use Connect's media player, but rather the media player built into the browser.

To do this we first go to the Download Content section of Connect for our MP4.

Right click on the link for downloading the MP4 from Connect. You will end up with something like this (not user friendly and will result in you downloading the MP4 file to your computer).

https://connect.cosocloud.com/pcbb5oooyk94/output/Crosswind+difficulties+-+winter+2013_14+%5B720p%5D.mp4?download=Crosswind+difficulties+-+winter+2013_14+%5B720p%5D.mp4

Remove everything from ?download= on. This will end up with a link like this (more user friendly, depending on the video name):
https://connect.cosocloud.com/pcbb5oooyk94/output/Crosswind+difficulties+-+winter+2013_14+%5B720p%5D.mp4

That link is what will play in the user's browser's media player.

Does that clarify?

Is the issue that it is trying to play back using the Flash based player?

If so, that is something that is supposed to be changed to a HTML based player with the next release of Connecct. In the mean time, there is a work around that is described here on how to get a link that will play the video back in Chrome. https://elearning.adobe.com/2020/01/playing-mp4-video-in-html5-from-the-adobe-connect-content-library/

And I just realized you posted that link in an earlier post. Does that not work for your users?

My client usually use chrome to view the recordings and I have been directing them to use edge and IE now.  Then today I checked edge and its doing the same thing as chrome.  I never could figure how to do what was explained in my earlier post...I need help..... I don't want to have to move all of my content away from adobe Connect.
