Webcam Resolution Limit Issue

Hello there!

According to this page, the Adobe Connect recommended and supported settings is 640*480 20 fps.

Now, our school purchased 30 $500 webcams only for us so we could study well in the pandemic and see the whiteboard and our teacher with a 1920*1080 60 fps webcam. I spoke to the support team and they said there is no way to change this limit unless using a third-party app that they are not even aware of something like that which exists. Also, they said the limit is 720p and not 480p. but both my own experience and this page say that the limit is 480p. 

Also, on this website, someone called idavidson, says that there is an add-in called Master Video Control that lets you adjust resolution, frame rate, and video quality while letting you closely monitor bandwidth. And another person called JJ, confirms it works perfectly! So the support said that this is just a third-party app and not an add-in. I'm so confused now. Could anyone help, please?

    Well you are referencing articles and forum posts from 2017 and 2007... a lot changes in technology over three or thirteen years. 

    The master video controller became non-functional many, many years ago due to changes on how live video was handled in Connect. Even if it wasn't broken long ago, the shift to HTML would break it as it was a Flash based app. 

    Currently the max Connect will do is 720p at 20 fps for one of the feeds. Here is a current article to reference: https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-connect/using/video-meetings.html#ShareHDvideofromwebcam

    The big thing is that Connect does a lot very well. It's a great vilt tool with the capability to provide a hightly interactive experience for learners. It is not a video conferenc platform. IF that is what you are looking for, you are better off using a different tool. The performance of live video is going to improve in 2021 when Adobe releases an update that uses new audio and video codecs, but I would be surprised if it changed things to compete with Zoom and the like because it just isn't built to do that.
