Question

When entering a room only entered as a Participant

Hi All,

When entering a connect room (in which I should be a Host) I am only logged in as a Participant.  This happens no matter how I enter the room - either through the admin console, or by logging in on the meeting page.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks!

Wajid

Hi, I've created a new meeting where I am assigned as host, when I enter that meeting or any others, I am assigned as a participant. I did go back multiple times to the admin page to make sure I am assigned as Host, and it is correct there. My account is through my work which is assimilateinc not through this adobe id I had to use to post this question.

What should I look for next, I have a big event scheduled for the 5th and I can't upload any material. My email is forrest@assimilatein.com

Best Regards, this matter is becoming urgent.

The two things that you need to have to be a Host that activates and runs a meeting is membership of the Meeting Host group and listed with Host permissions for that individual room.

If you have those two things, and it is still not working, I would try removing you from the Meeting Host group and then putting you back in, just to make sure there isn't a hiccup in the system about your membership of that group. Then try changing your permissions for a room from Host to something else, and back to Host again. Make sure the room hasn't been actively used for the last 15 min, or it may not reflect your permissions update accurately.

If neither of those options work, reach out to support and see if they can identify an issue on the server. 800-945-9120

Hi -- When we upgraded to Connect 9 in January, I had this happen to quite a few folks that were indeed Meeting hosts, and when entering rooms that they use all the time would be enterted as participants.  When I went in and looked at their meeting participant list, they had actually somehow been changed to participant there... simply changing them back to host took care of the issue.  Out of my 75 meeting hosts, this happened to about 10 people very randomly.  Hope this helps.

You are not a member of the Meeting Host Group. You must be a member of this group in Connect to run/host a meeting.
