Question

Why is Adobe Connect randomly stopping video and audio share in the middle of a meeting?

On 2 recent occasions now, Adobe Connect has stopped sharing video and audio in the middle of a meeting and presentation.  Is this a bug?

No one stopped mic sharing or video sharing, and they didn't go into a muted mic/video state.  It seems as though the host machine that was sharing simply reverted into a defaulted beginning of the meeting state.

Hello,

Was there any resolution to this issue?  We have it occasionally.  We have researched logs, firewall and router logs, etc. and are stumped...  Each and every time it reconnects, but it appears as a disconnect/reconnect issue.  We have many other remote functions and none have this issue.

Thanks

There is a bug with Windows 8 and Connect 9.2 where it would sometimes stop screen sharing after 20 minutes. This should be resolved with the release of 9.3. Not sure if this is related to what you are experienceing.

I have the same problem with Adobe Connect 9.5.2, the last plug-in version and MacOs 10.11.3. It's very annoying

This is very likely from a temporary loss of connectivity. It's hard to pin-point where that problem occurs, but if it only affects the one individual, then it is very likely at their end, as opposed to at the server. If you have access to the server logs, then you may be able to go back to when that happened and see what is reported in the error log and get more insight. If your account is hosted, then you can reach out to Adobe and see if they have the logs for that time period, or you may need to contact them the next time it happens.

Does the user see the room refresh? This would be an indication that their connectivity dropped and came back.

Nope, that's not it.  This has occurred in 2 seperate AC meetings, 2 different users, and both machines that were sharing video/audio were wired.  The meeting stayed connected.

I did not see the drop the 1st time, I just received an anecdotal report and came in to start the share again.  The 2nd time, I noticed that the video started freezing and glitching, then it stopped.  The audio from the person speaking was fine, but when the video dropped the mic dropped too.  Again, not that it muted or anything, it just disabled itself.

It sounds like a connectivity issue to me, but the best place to start would be with the server logs. Even hard-wired users can have hiccups in their connectivity. I have seen IT policies that randomly interrupt streaming media to deter people from watching YouTube, etc, that will interrupt the Connect stream, and cause a similar problem. Meaning that there are many other factors that can be at play besides hard wired vs. wireless.
