About importing a model without any UV coordinates

Hi everyone,

I have sculpted a model in ZBrush and would like to use Substance 3D Painter for unwrapping.

I am getting the following error messages:

[Scene 3D] Failed to compute tangents; need UV data in channel0

[Paint editor] Invalid scene, mesh 'Group41280' has no UV coordinates

[Paint editor] Invalid scene, mesh 'Group41280' has no UV coordinates

What can I do?

Thank you very much for help.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the message.

Substance 3D Painter needs UVs in order to paint on the model. Hopefully, you can check the Auto-Unwrap box when creating a new project, and it will create UVs out of your 3D mesh for you.

In case you already have existing UVs, you can change the Auto-Unwrap options to "Recompute All" to overwrite the existing ones.

Regards,
