Question

Assets in custom library showing up as multiple asset types in substance painter

I've created a shared library on our network (for multiple users to access) I have a bunch of base materials that show up in several categories (material/textures/alphas/filters). When I right click asset I can see they have multiple tags under "usages". Am I able to edit this so they only shows up only in the correct asset tab? I'm not sure where the usage data/metadata comes from.  Thanks

Hi @epaynter,

Thanks for the question.

It is possible that your files are inside multiple folders in your library document. To quickly access the files of your custom shelf:

Right click on an asset > show in > show in Explorer

You will see in Explorer a folder by Substance 3D Painter category (smart-masks, alphas, materials, etc.). Make sure your assets are not in multiple folders.

Best regards,

Hi Cyril

Looks like it was something along those lines. I had a "temp" folder in the main lib folder I was pointing to containing a bunch of "not yet organized" substance assets and those were the ones showing up in all the other categories. Thanks!
