Baking destroys and inverts textures.

When I imported the model, which is a basic cubesphere from Maya as an OBJ, I got the error " [Scene 3D] OBJ: unexpected illumination model (0-2 recognized) ". In addition, when I try to bake my texture maps, this happens:
 
 

 

 

Can anyone help me with whats going on here?

Hello @JimWatkins,

 

Can you send your log (Help > Export log), so I may have a better idea on what's happening? For the different look after baking, this is the expected result.

 

The material you are using is a Smart Material, meaning it will use the maps built at baking in order to create localized variations. You can edit the layers of the Smart mat at anytime.
