How Do I Update a Specific Subtool in my Model?

Hey all!

I want to import a new mesh for an existing subtool in my texture set list, but don't want to update the entire model's low resolution mesh maps once more in the process. Is there any way to import one part of a model to substance painter? Much thanks!

EH

Hi Elizabeth,

In Substance 3D Painer, you can't reimport only a part of the mesh. It will always "delete" the current one, add the new one, and reproject all the strokes on the new model.

To be honest, if your asset has strongly changed, I'm not confident the 3D reprojection will work as expected. I advise you to check the Preserve Stroke box (under the import settings) before reimporting. You can learn more on the subject in the above link.

Best regards,
