Hello! I am totally new to substance 3D painter and I find it facinating and great software, like a new Photoshop for me!

I am very good with lights and cameras & rendering in NVIDIA Omniverse, I am the worlds first Omniverse Ambassador and also now Dell Pro Max Ambassador.

My question is about the golden stripe in the wine glass of the restaurant example scene.
When I export the scene as USD to Omnvierse, I get that glass as one object, so I cannot just replace the material for the glass part with native Omnvierse RTX2 rendering engine glass material, since then I loose the golden stripe.

How can  split this golden stripe to own object so it exports to USD as 2 separate meshes?

Hello @Pekka Varis,

Thank you for the message.

You can't edit the geometry in Substance 3D Painter. You'll have to export the .USD in a modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or similar. In here, you'll be able to select an entire edge loop from the glass object and cut it from the mesh. Than, export it to Omniverse, where you should now be able to attribute a specific Omniverse Material to the Glass and another one to the Golden strip.

Best regards,
