Question

How to Restore Painter Texture Export Presets?

Hello folks...

I wanted to control the number of textures Painter was exporting to UE, so I deleted some of the texture outputs I would not need. I figured they'd automatically be restored the next session.

I was wrong.

It is months later, and I still cannot restore these presets to their original state, and I am missing a needed texture output.

What can I do??

Using Windows 10. Painter version I'm not sure of at the moment, and that machine's powered down.

Hi @keithieweithie,

Thank you for the question.

If you want to retrieve a starter asset as it natively was, you can uninstall and reinstall the application. That being said, it seems a bit extreme for an Export preset only.

You can also manually recreate it, but if you feel a little bit overwhelmed by the preset creation, just let me know and I'll send you the preset file.

Best regards,

Thank you for that, and let me see if I cannot follow that link you provided. If it twists my brain, I'll tap you on the shoulder.

Thanks.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
