Question

Is there an issue passing presets between PC and Mac version of Painter?

Is there any issue ( or requirement when ) passing presets between PC and Mac versions of Painter?

I'm trying to send colleagues my smart-material presets and the PC guys can drag and drop and they work fine, but the Mac guys ( running native rather than through Bootcamp) get an error. Not even a useful one that might suggest a solution. We've tried manually placing them in the correct your-asset smart-material folder and restarting and they're not recognised.

We assumed presets would be platform agnostic so is there anything extra we need to be doing?

Thanks

So I'm down to one Mac artist now but the issue remains.
I'd attach a sample smart-material file here for you to test but .spsm and .zip files aren't accepted.

Hello @Dean22517655aei7,

Thanks for the message and all the details.

There shouldn't have issues when passing a .SPSM from Windows to Mac, but I'll run some test tomorrow. I'd be glad to have your file, so feel free to send it to me at cdellenbach@adobe.com

Best regards,

For further info ..

This was initially using presets of our own materials made in Designer.

I've just checked with a simple smart-material consisting of just a fill layer with every channel turned on. So about the simplest default s-m you can have.  Same result. Cannot be imported as a smart-material.
