Looking for a smart mask or directional shader that can do this in Substance Painter

Hello all,

I'm looking for a smart mask or similar in Substance Painter to create snow or dust settling on an object from a deliberate direction, as in the example attached (in this case from above [Y]). In C4D for example there is a shader called Terrain Mask that does this.

Appreciate any input. Thanks!

Hello @Max34144368agju,

Thank for the question.

You can find many Snow materials on our Substance 3D Assets library. From there, I would add a black mask on the Snow material, and in this black mask, I would drag & drop a Position or Light generator.

Both of these generators are relying on the Position map, a map that is built during the baking, so make sure to bake your 3D object.

Alternatively, you could directly use a Smart mask as Bottom to Top to create a similar effect.
