is this behaving correctly?  when I lower my opacity slider on a layer to zero, it still shows..

is there a way to have a layer totally dissapear by just lowering the opacity to zero, like it would behave in say photoshop or any other application?

You are only lowering the opacity of the base color layer - not the entire material. So the default gray colour will still show with any height, normal, roughness, and metal variations remaining visible. To change the others you would need to switch to the other channels and lower the opacity of them also.

Hi
Have you tried to add a channel "Opacity" from Texture Set Settings" and activate it in "Properties" and then with the slot "Opacity" put it at 0?
