I accidentally paint two diferents colors in the same layer in my texture painting, i need help to separate them, or at least remove one specific color from the layer,

I would like some help; no tutorial or forum has helped me so far.

It’s simple. Add anchor point to your layer with two colors. Create new fill layer, add black mask → Fill → Choose anchor point previously created. By using levels, remove color what you don’t need. You can tweak this by using histograms, clamping and levels to make a better result, but this simple solution could help.

Also you can use this in very interesting way, by creating two fill layers focused on two different colors, you can use two colors in one layer to get different final effect :) I hope this can help you.

By following this guide I was able to separate one color from another, although as I was already warned it wouldn't be perfect, I was able to export the individual layer, remove the black background externally, and then import it again, and applying a filter to revert to the original color. It worked well, thanks!

    Hi @megaraptortheallo,

Unfortunately, Substance Painter’s Paint Layers are not procedural, so it’s complicated to edit values afterwards. You’ll have to use the Eraser tool or if you really need an automatic solution, you can:

    1. export your Base Color
    2. reimport it in Substance Painter
    3. add a white mask to your Paint Layer
    4. add a Color Selection to the mask (RMB > Add a color selection)
    5. replace the ID Mask by your Base Color
    6. select the color you want to remove

I’m not sure this will help, but that is a bit more “automatic” than a simple Eraser. That being said, your Base Color is obviously static.

Edit : I advise you to use @Pawel376750718aja solution that is quite elegant.
