Show in UI for layer selection

I was wondering if there is a way to pull focus using python on a layer that is selected .

i figured out how to set the node selection in the layerstack but i want the UI to then also show it instead of having to scroll through my layerstack to find it manually

theres a showinui function for resources but i dont see any for layers
