Question

SP 2025 (Steam)

Hello Adobe Team,

I’m seeking clarification regarding the release of Substance Painter 2025 on Steam. As of today, January 6th, 2025, the Steam version still shows the 2024 release, with no sign of the 2025 update.

I’ve spent hours searching for any official news but have found conflicting information. Some Adobe employees have stated that the 2025 version is coming to Steam, while others have said it is not. Those supporting the release have dismissed the contrary statements as incorrect. However, I haven’t seen any official confirmation from Adobe about whether the 2025 version will be available on Steam, nor any indication of when it might be released.

Could you please provide clarity on this matter? If Substance Painter 2025 is planned for Steam, an estimated release date would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for addressing this question. I look forward to any response.

It´s a shame, no release-discount and no more discount for people who own earlier versions...
In that way, it´s much too expensive for hobbyists like me ^^

@Adobe
You could easily get 120$ from me, but it looks like you don´t want it...
I will continue using Painter 2020.

@mintexce what I just said is official. It will land around march.

@Halil_Man

  1. the version you bought won't "update". If you bought the 2024 version, it will stay a 2024 version.
  2. From what I know, the price should stay consistent
  3. You should wait for 2025

Hi @LuxPhantasia,

Where have you seen an Adobe member suggesting Substance 3D Painter wouldn't be on Steam in 2025? If you have a link to such a statement, I'd be eager to see this.

Considering all the info I have, I don't see any reason why this year should be different than any other for Substance Painter on Steam and the 2025 license should land soon on the platform. Considering it's very depending on when we're releasing an update, I don't have a more specific ETA to share for now.

Best regards,

Hi Cyril,

Thank you for your response and for clarifying the situation.

Regarding your question, I don’t have specific links. However, during my search for updates, I came across multiple discussions (mostly on Reddit) where several users mentioned contacting Adobe customer service. According to their accounts, customer service representatives stated that Substance Painter 2025 would not be coming to Steam this year.

Since there hasn’t been any official announcement from Adobe and many people reported hearing it wouldn’t be coming, I wasn’t entirely sure what the correct answer was. I’m glad to hear it’s still planned, and I appreciate your clarification.

Thanks again!
